PRINCIPLE

 

The automated automated procedure is based on the property of the cationic surfactants ( quaternary ammonium salt ) to react with the anionic dye bromophenol blue  to form a yellow colored complex, extractable with chloroform.

The color intensity of the chloroform phase is measured at 410 nm
